Sony has released the long-awaited official trailer for the sure-to-be summer blockbuster Ghostbusters.
Set 30 years after the last Ghostbusters were working on bustin’ ghosts, the film stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones as the new all-female taskforce set on defeating some ghosts. McCarthy plays ghost researcher Abby Yates, Wiig plays physicist Erin Gilbert, McKinnon plays nuclear engineer Jillian Holtzman, and Jones plays subway booth clerk and New York guide Patty Tolan.
There are quite a few parallels to the original, mainly with the way the ghosts look and the green slime they spit out, but this film is much grander.
Merely minutes after this trailer was released, there was immediate backlash in the comments section and the dislikes have far outnumbered the likes.
Most of the comments are complaining about how this looks to be like a sequel rather than the reboot they were promised, but in reality, they’re using this argument to mask their hatred for the all-female cast. Comments range from “women ruin everything” to “feminists just f*cked my childhood… going to ignore every movie with these actresses since now…thx SONY.”
Make sure to watch the trailer and remember, every “like” makes a man-baby cry!
