It’s finally here! FX has released its first trailer for Ryan Murphy’s newest installment, The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. The limited series explores the chaos that happens behind-the-scenes of the trial on both sides of the court. According to FX’s details about the show, it will be based on Jeffrey Toobin’s book The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson, in which the prosecutor explains how the criminal justice system breaks down as he chronicles the trial and analyzes the ups-and-downs that led to the verdict.
From executive producers Ryan Murphy, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Scott Alexander, Larry Karaszewski and Brad Falchuk, The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story will be adding a lot of new names to its cast, including Cuba Gooding Jr. (O.J.), John Travolta (Robert Shapiro), David Schwimmer (Robert Kardashian), Selma Blair (Kris Kardashian), Courtney B. Vance (Johnnie Cochran) and Sterling Brown (Christopher Darden).
Luckily for American Horror Story fans, they’ll at least get to see one familiar face as Sarah Paulson will be starring as Marcia Clark. Judging solely by the trailer, it looks like it’s going to be one of the must-watch shows of 2016! Not only is the show based on a real trial that shook the ’90s, but it seems that Ryan Murphy was able to adapt the story into a suspenseful and action-filled series.
The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story premieres February 2 at 10/9c on FX.
