ABC’s New Shows: ‘Quantico’ Starring Priyanka Chopra

Bollywood’s Priyanka Chopra is making a major career transition to American television. The Indian actress will star in ABC’s upcoming thriller Quantico, created by Gossip Girl‘s Joshua Safran. Chopra plays Alex Parrish, an FBI agent who gets accused of terrorism.

Watching the trailer, it felt like a high school CW drama, especially the narration by Chopra. It’s supposed to be Grey’s Anatomy meets Homeland (which peaked in its first season, mind you) but I’m not confident the formula will work. I am excited to see that one of the series regulars is a Muslim woman who wears a hijab, since you don’t typically see that represented on American television. So, because I like the female cast so much, I hope it turns out to be a compelling thriller.

A diverse group of recruits has arrived at the FBI Quantico Base for training. They are the best, the brightest and the most vetted, so it seems impossible that one of them is suspected of masterminding the biggest attack on New York City since 9/11.

Quantico stars Priyanka Chopra, Dougray Scott, Jake McLaughlin, Aunjanue Ellis, Yasmine Al Massri, Johanna Braddy, Tate Ellington, and Graham Rogers.
