Ryan Murphy’s latest horror anthology series Scream Queens has already been picked up by FOX. And considering they’ve already started releasing promos for it (the first promo was also released on Friday the 13th back in February), FOX must have really high expectations for this show.
The new anthology series revolves around a college campus which is rocked by a series of murders and is set in a sorority house.
This new teaser called “Chanel Bubblegum” features Emma Roberts, one of the leads, wearing a sorority sweater with the initials KNT (clever).
The first season also stars Jaime Lee Curtis, Lea Michele (who currently stars in Murphy’s other series, Glee, which is having its series finale next Friday), Joe Manganiello, Abigail Breslin, and Keke Palmer. Singers Ariana Grande and Nick Jonas will recur. Nasim Pedrad and Niecy Nash were also recently cast; Nash will play Denise a “private security guard who kicks major butt.”
Murphy talked about the series concept back in December.
I knew I wanted to work with Brad and Ian again on something comedic, and we are having a blast writing Scream Queens. We hope to create a whole new genre—comedy-horror—and the idea is for every season to revolve around two female leads. We’ve already begun a nationwide search for those women, as well as 10 other supporting roles, and we’re very grateful to Dana [Walden] and Gary [Newman] for their enthusiastic support.
Scream Queens will premiere this fall.
