Victoria Justice’s new show Eye Candy premieres on MTV on January 12, 2015.
Eye Candy centers on tech genius Lindy (Victoria Justice), who is persuaded by her roommate to begin online dating and begins to suspect that one of her mysterious suitors might be a deadly cyber stalker. When her friends at the elusive cyber-police uncover a potential serial killer in Manhattan, all signs point to one of Lindy’s dates. Teaming up with this band of hackers, Lindy works to solve the murders while unleashing her own style of justice on the streets of New York City.
From the Millennial generation, Lindy is a “brilliant, 21-year-old hacker from the Chicago suburbs” who has been shaped by “the horrific abduction of her younger sister, Sara.” Casey Deidrick plays Tommy, who works for the NYPD Cyber Unit and is “skeptical of Lindy’s tactics and motivations” but decides to work with her, anyway. Sophia, played by Kiersey Clemons, is Lindy’s roommate and best friend and the owner of a popular downtown nightclub. She’s described as “fun-loving and free-spirited.”
John Garet Stoker is Connor, a gossip blogger and Sophia’s other best friend who has a “friendly rivalry” with Lindy. He doesn’t like having to share Sophia’s attentions with Lindy. (Stalker alert?)
Finally, there’s George, played by Harvey Guillen. “George is Lindy’s friend, confidante, and coworker at her day job in theIT department of a financial company. A fellow hacker, George has alwayshelped Lindy out when she needed assistance whether it’s legal orslightly left of the law.”
The above trailer for Eye Candy features Victoria Justice as Lindy internally monologuing and jogging on the streets of NYC. At one point, she says: “You can’t find a psychopath without being a little insane yourself.” A little cliché, if you ask me. It ends with Lindy entering her apartment and looking directly at her webcam: “Come and get me.”
