‘The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask’ Remastered for Nintendo 3DS

Following with the others in its franchise, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is set to be remastered for the 2D and 3DS platform. Yes, it’s officially happening.

Nintendo has released an official trailer on their YouTube Channel as of today, November 5th, 2014. In the 2-minute trailer you will see the release date is set for sometime in the spring of 2015 and shows mash-up gameplay with unique background music. Anyone familiar with the original should be able to recognize certain scenes, music, and characters.

The excitement should surely begin.

Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask was originally released in April of 2000 on Nintendo 64, Gamecube, and later on the Wii in 2009 and has sold 3.36 million copies worldwide.

If you’ve never played the game or are just not familiar, Majora’s Mask is an action adventure video game featuring puzzles and ocarina music from it’s predecessor, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. But it’s a time based game (centered on a 3 day cycle) and the total of 24 masks allow our favourite protagonist Link to transform at will.

It’s also incredibly creepy. It’s the dark older brother to all of the other Legend of Zelda games in the franchise. Link’s objective is to save the world from a moon that threatens to crush everyone in three days time which results in Link needing to rewind time, over and over. The music itself, if you couldn’t tell from the trailer, is almost uncomfortable in its arrangement and there’s plenty more of that in the actual game. Also adding to the creepy-factor is the ever popular creepypasta “BEN Drowned” — I read it years ago and still remember various twisted aspects of it.

So, are you guys excited for this remastered version? Can’t wait to get your hands on it or is it just not your cup of tea (it’s not mine, to tell you the truth)?
