Netflix Original “Hemlock Grove” Returns July 11

Before we begin, here’s a not-at-all-shocking disclaimer: I am not the world’s greatest fan of Hemlock Grove.

My recaps of last season will definitely attest to that. I probably can’t even call myself a fan, period, because I ended up disliking 89.3% of everything, with the final 10.7% dedicated to mild apathy and a genuine laugh here or there. (Apparently I’m not alone in this regard; despite having a reportedly large viewership, critics have generally been lukewarm to outright scathing in their reviews for the horror series.)

But as we inch ever closer to season two’s inevitable return, I find myself stuck with a sick sense of anticipation. I actually can’t wait to watch more of this show, if only so I can get drunk with a bunch of friends and make fun of it again. And after a long, long, long wait for an official release date, Netflix has finally seen fit to grace us with the date of Hemlock Grove‘s “triumphant” return: July 11. They’ve even been kind enough to grace us with a teaser trailer.

Landon Liboron, Bill Skarsgard, Famke Janssen, and Dougray Scott are returning to reprise their roles. Joining the cast for season two is Orange Is The New Black‘s Madeline Brewer as town newcomer Miranda Cates. Yay, more female characters! Here’s hoping she survives the season – but seeing as how nearly all the women died in season one, I’m not holding out too much hope.

Are you tuning in for Season 2? Sound off in the comments below! While you’re there, explain to me why a show this terrible is so addicting. I mean, honestly.
