Season 2 of Orphan Black doesn’t premiere until April 19th but the first full-length trailer gives us a little taste of what to expect.
If you haven’t caught up on Orphan Black, there’s still time! Tatiana Maslany’s performance as several clones including Sarah Manning, Alison Hendrix, Cosima Niehaus, and Rachel Duncan has earned her a Golden Globe nomination and a Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series. Season 1 dealt with a religious fundamentalist group and Season 2 promises to delve more into the clone conspiracy and Project LEDA, specifically through the character of Rachel Duncan – a new clone that was introduced at the end of the first season.
From the trailer, we see that Sarah is on the run after refusing to sign a deal with Neolution. She’s also trying to find her daughter, Kira, who was kidnapped at the end of Season 1. Mrs. S (Maria Doyle Kennedy), who was revealed to know a lot more than she was letting on, will be back – along with Art (Kevin Hanchard) and Paul (Dylan Bruce). Michiel Huisman (Game of Thrones, Nashville), meanwhile, will play a character from Sarah’s past.
Hopefully, Season 2 will continue to deliver on the great action, mystery, and character work of Season 1. Watch the trailer below and tell us what you think.
