“Assassin’s Creed: Unity” Will Be Set During French Revolution

Earlier today Ubisoft confirmed rumors about their latest addition to the Assassin’s Creed series with a sneak peek trailer showcasing deserted streets, a roaring mob, and a guillotine. Looks like we’re headed to 18th century France!

This trailer comes on the heels of leaked early gameplay images from Kotaku, so Unity being set during the French Revolution is probably not news to anyone at this point, but it’s always nice to make things official. Plus, we got some pretty alpha game footage!

Qu’ils mangent de la brioche [Let them eat cake]! We have been working on the new Assassin’s Creed for more than three years and although we weren’t quite ready to show you our full vision for a next-gen only AC, it seems Abstergo are trying to force our hand! So here’s a true first look at in-game footage from Assassin’s Creed Unity. Stay tuned – we’ll have many more exciting details for you in the months ahead!
