Set to “Adagio in D Minor”, the trailer for X-men: Days of Future Past is quite dark and dramatic. Returnees who’ve appeared in previous X-men movies include James McAvoy, Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, and Shawn Ashmore. Among the newbies are Peter Dinklage as Bolivar Trask, Evan Peters as Quicksilver, Booboo Stewart as Warpath, Omar Sy as Bishop, Bingbing Fan as Blink, and Adan Canto as Sunspot.
Despite the plethora of characters and brutal way the original X-men movies ended (I don’t even want to think about The Last Stand), X-men: Days of Future Past will hopefully live up to its hype.
Here a few details that director Bryan Singer has revealed:
- Days of Future Past will be darker in tone compared to the previous movies. And that’s due to the stakes being so high.
- Storm is one of the last remaining X-men in the post-apocalyptic world that Wolverine, Stewart’s Xavier, and McKellen’s Magneto are living in.
- Iceman and Shadowcat are an item.
- Bishop, Sunspot, Warpath, and Blink are refugees who join forces with the remaining X-men.
X-men: Days of Future Past comes to theaters May 23, 2014.
