You’ve done it, I’ve done it, we’ve all done it. I’m talkin’ ’bout doing a fake voiceover/narration voice. You know what I mean: something awesome has just happened and you feel the need to put your thoughts on the subject into words – that only you and the people in your car and/or house (I sincerely hope you don’t do this in public) can hear.
I can’t be the only one who does this, right? Of course not, since the exciting world of movie trailer narration has garnered enough interest to justify a real life movie based on the subject.
Check out the trailer:
A hilarious and heart-felt comedy about a struggling vocal coach who strikes it big in the cutthroat world of movie-trailer voiceovers, only to find herself in direct competition with the industry’s reigning king—her father. – 3311 Productions
The movie will star Lake Bell (who also wrote and directed it), an actor I’ve only seen in bit parts before now. Sometimes she annoys me and sometimes she doesn’t. It’s all based on how “quirky” her character is. Here, I’m hoping the fact that she’s playing a relatively normal person will make her endearing.
Even if I’m undecided on the main character, there’s always the fact that both Demetri Martin and Nick Offerman co-star. Who doesn’t love those two? Okay, I’m sure there are people out there who don’t, and I hope I never meet those poor souls.
If you’re still undecided about this movie, feel free to check out an interview about it featuring Bell:
