Mark Gatiss joins “Game of Thrones”

Mark Gatiss (Sherlock, Doctor Who) has been cast in an undisclosed role for season 4 of HBO’s Game of Thrones. Gatiss plays Sherlock Holmes’ brother, Mycroft, on BBC’s Sherlock. He made an appearance in series 4 of Being Human, as well, as a member of the “Old Ones,” a villainous group of vampires bent on taking over the world Nazi-style.

Previously it was announced that Pedro Pascal (Graceland) was cast in the role of Oberyn Martell.

While Gatiss’ role on the show has not been revealed, my gut tells me he’s going to play Mace Tyrell – father to Margaery and Loras Tyrell. In the books, Mace is described as fat, so I wonder if Gatiss will “bulk up” for the role at all.
