The first look trailer for Disney’s latest animated work, Frozen, has finally released. It’s presented as a comedy adventure, where a fearless young girl named Anna (voiced by Kristen Bell) quests to find her sister, Elsa the Snow Queen (voiced by Idina Menzel), who has accidentally cursed the kingdom with an eternal winter.
It’s very, very loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytale The Snow Queen, where a little girl named Gerda quests to save the boy she loves, Kai, from the clutches of the Snow Queen. (A lot of other things happen too, because this is a pretty long story comprised of seven distinct parts.)
The Frozen teaser doesn’t actually show anything plot-related, but it does introduce two of the characters that will be traveling with Anna: a tiny snowman and a puppy-like reindeer. The third member of Anna’s party is a mountain man named Kristoff (voiced by Jonathan Groff), who is not featured in the short.
Frozen is set to release November 27, 2013. You can watch the teaser trailer here:
